How Almar came to be

Almar was born from a very simple idea.

For years we travelled the world, staying in hotels, apartments and small hideaways. On every trip we noticed the small details that made us feel something special: a perfect bed, the sound of the sea at dawn, a glass of wine at sunset, a warm light waiting for us after dinner.

We also knew the opposite: beautiful places that stirred nothing at all. So one day we decided to create the place we had always hoped to find. A home where every choice has a reason, made so that, for a few days, you would want for nothing.

We are not a hotel chain, nor an investment fund. We are a couple of travellers who poured time, care and a great deal of love into one single place facing the Mediterranean.

We didn't design a suite. We designed the stay we always looked for when we travelled.

The suite

An open space where bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area flow without walls — wrapped in curved lines, warm textures and a golden light that shifts throughout the day. Every corner looks out to the sea.

Just steps away lies the Mascarat cove, with turquoise waters set between cliffs. Altea preserves its old town, highlighting its whitewashed tones, an iconic blue-domed church and some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Mediterranean.
